In this work, I verify the overall design of the switched inductor / capacitor dual-switch boost converter with MATLAB and Synopsys Saber.

Outline

In this section, I build a converter's Synopsys Saber model and MATLAB Simulink model to simulate and verify our design from four aspects: steady-state characteristics, frequency-domain characteristics, transient response, and disturbance suppression. I first verify the steady-state voltages, currents as well as ripples. Then, I look into the validation of the dynamic model theory and obtain the loop gain through spectrum scanning of the Saber simulator. Finally, the verifications of output transient characteristics as well as the disturbances suppression characteristics are performed.

Research Method

  • Synopsys Saber SPICE model
  • MATLAB Simulink model

Conclusion

💡
The new-designed converter successfully realizes the designed steady output while suppressing load impedance and input voltage disturbance.
